National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been given a strong warning by Senator Shehu Sani.
He said; “Well, the person of Asiwaju is the one I know in the field of struggle. We worked together for MKO’s project and for the resistance against the annulment.”
“I know him personally. But what I tweeted is more of a Biblical/Shakespearian allegory or whatever one can use in sending a message to someone and what I am trying to say is that as he is allegedly moving towards contesting for the presidency.”
“He should try to know the actual feeling on the ground as far as the North is concerned because I know what Abiola went through.”
“Abiola served the North more than any other businessman from the western part of Nigeria. He printed the Quran and shared it with many Muslims. But how did he end up? They (northerners) conspired against him and sabotaged him and at the end of the day, he was gone.”
Meanwhile,Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, has denied supporting the presidential ambition of National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu
Afenifere Director of Communications, Sola Lawal in a statement titled, ‘Afenifere denies endorsing presidential aspirant’ said;
“Afenifere is still mourning the demise of its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Yinka Odumakin, in whose honour the group suspended all engagements.”
“96-year-old Pa Fasoranti has taken a “deserved rest when he formally handed over to Chief Ayo Adebanjo three weeks ago after leading the group for 12 years and so the former couldn’t have spoken for Afenifere during the SWAGA visit to his Akure home.”
“Afenifere has temporarily halted all activities in honour of Odumakin who is still lying in the morgue, cold and lonely”.
“The Adeyeye foray into Afenifere space at this period of huge loss and intense mourning is disrespectful, insensitive and unwarranted.”
